Schwende Alpe (from Watzenegg)
Starting from Watzenegg and heading for Palmern, an approx. 40 minutes’ walk of moderate difficulty will bring you to the Schwendealpe. Lustenauer HUT (on the Bödele)
Accessible in approximately one hour on foot from Älpele car park on the Bödele, the Lustenauer Hut is located high above Schwarzenberg. Bödele, a cultural landscape with great views
Bödele has been a popular local recreation area for decades: it’s easy to access, lies above the fog level, has impressively lovely scenery and offers excellent views. To one side you can look out over the Rhine Valley, the mountains of Switzerland and Lake Constance. To the other side a large part of the Bregenzerwald stretches off into the distance.
The guided walk begins on the Bödele Pass, a really idyllic spot set in gentle moorland with a small artificial lake and a walking track surrounded by birch and fir forest.
From Fohra Moos the walk continues towards Hochälpele, a viewpoint and the ideal place for a snack or a picnic.
This trip is available with or without a picnic rucksack.

On the tracks of the Dornbirn textile industry
In the course of the 18th century Dornbirn developed into a textile centre. Until the 1980s textile companies such as Herrburger & Rhomberg, Franz M. Rhomberg and F.M. Hämmerle or Elastisana have shaped the history of the town and its surrounding area. Our tour begins right outside our front door. We head off in the direction of the local river, the Dornbirner Ache, where the “textile barons” set up numerous factories employing thousands of people. Our destination is the idyllic Inatura area, once known as the “Rüsch factory”.
This city tour is possible on foot or by bike.
